This Ugandan holiday honors the 45 Christian men (22 Catholic and 23 Anglican) who were killed by the King of Buganda between 1885 and 1887. The celebration at the Catholic Uganda Martyrs' Shrine at Namugongo is among the largest annual religious gatherings in the world.
